ODEON Cinemas is the largest cinema chain in the UK and employs more than 5,500 people across 100+ locations. They have selected Jobtrain’s online recruitment software and support service to manage all UK recruitment.
Overview of ODEON’s recruitment before using Jobtrain
ODEON launched a brand new recruitment website (www.odeoncareers.co.uk) which enabled the company to have an online recruitment presence and had commissioned a bespoke candidate management system to handle online applications.
The system was basic however and ODEON were managing much of the recruitment administration manually, which was costly in time and resource. Going forward it was decided that they required a more cost effective and sophisticated tool to help manage and support their resourcing activity.
ODEON had the following objectives:

Seamlessly linked from ODEON’s internal and external careers sites, the separate portals enable ODEON to publish all their live internal and external vacancies.
Candidates and employees can review and apply online for live vacancies, register their interest for future opportunities and refer vacancies onto friends and colleagues.
Online scored assessment forms
ODEON use our scored assessment form builder to automatically screen candidates according to core requirements for each role. This greatly reduces time spent reviewing candidates that aren’t suitable for the role they have applied for.
Cinema Manager access
Every Cinema Manager has individual access to the Jobtrain system to manage their hiring more effectively, reducing time to hire, improving communication and ensuring consistency. All managers have access to our comprehensive phone and email support service.
Email and letter functions
The communication tools enable ODEON to communicate with candidates, individually or en-masse, including the facility for candidate responses to be stored against their profile.
Comprehensive database and talent pools
ODEON have instant searchable access to every candidate and employee that has applied online, including role, salary and location matching to save time, money and improve overall talent management.
ODEON have access to comprehensive reports on any aspect of their recruitment activity, saving time and driving cost efficiencies.
All ODEON users have unlimited access to a dedicated Client Success Manager via phone or email, supported by online help within the Jobtrain system. All candidates can access a similar phone and email support service should they require help with applications.
