The Jobtrain Foundation

People helping people

Our business is not just about providing recruitment technology (although we think we are pretty good at that) it’s about people.  But that only tells part of the story, because the people who make up our business are far more than that.  As a collective we all decided that we want to do more to help those around us in society and, with this in mind, we have committed 1% of all of our annual licence fees to The Jobtrain Foundation.   We started contributing to our Foundation late in 2017 and have so far committed close to £100,000.

After careful thought we decided that our Foundation would focus on three key areas which are close to our hearts as well as having a real synergy with a good number of our clients. Our thinking is that we hope to learn from our client experiences and, at times, take a steer from them as to how we can have the best impact.

The sectors are:
public Education and health
public Housing and the homeless
public The community

We have already supported an infant school in Stockport in building a ‘sensory garden’ to support the very young who struggle to adapt to school life. We have provided a mobility scooter to 2 well deserving people who were struck down  – one by MS and the other by a stroke.  Both are in their 40s.

We also sponsor a local women’s cricket team – encouraging women of all ages to get involved.

And we sponsor a kid’s football team – we started this after a year of lockdown, so they were raring to go!

We have 2 major causes that we work closely with and that are close to our hearts: The Homeless Project Manchester and BookTrust.

BookTrust

BookTrust is the UK’s largest children’s reading charity, reaching 3.9 million children across the UK with books, resources and support.  One in 8 schools in the UK do not have a library and as Cressida Cowell, the Children’s Laureate and someone who works with BookTrust, puts it ‘Reading is magic, and magic is for everyone’.

By making regular contributions via our Foundation we will be helping children and families discover the lifelong joy and benefit of reading.  To find out more about BookTrust click here

The Homeless Project Manchester

The Homeless Project Manchester is an entirely volunteer led organisation that delivers meals, clothing and essential items to the homeless in Manchester and relies wholly on contributions from local businesses and the public.  We have become actively involved in this group not just providing regular funding but also helping to make and distribute hot meals to those in need.
